Born in England, Michael grew up in a farming family, then immigrated to Australia in 1964 with his wife and two children. They farmed in Tasmania for several years, then left Tasmania to travel around Australia, driven by a powerful desire for spiritual growth. They started an intentional community with a group of like-minded people. It was during this time that Michael connected with the metaphysical expression of Nature, which ultimately led to his Self-Realization in 1986. Michael describes this as “the ever-expanding falling in love with Self.” The years leading up to his Awakening are documented in his books Talking with Nature – Journey Into Nature, Journey Into Oneness and Into a Timeless Realm.

Michael now travels the world presenting his 5-Day Intensives and seminars. When not traveling, Michael, and his wife Carolyn, live in a beautiful subtropical part of Queensland, Australia.

The Monroe Institute - The Gateway Voyage

The Monroe Institute is dedicated to the exploration of human consciousness and discovering the many possibilities of human potentiality that may enhance our evolution on our planet.

Gateway Voyage program 

(Sunday, May 30 to Saturday, June 5, 2010) is a method of discovery where one can explore different states of consciousness through direct experience. By exploring our internal world, we are able to understand in greater depth the nature of our own reality and our relationship to the universe. We utilize an audio-guidance technology as a tool to access these levels of awareness which assists one in knowing that we are more than our physical bodies.

The program consists of progressive, guided exercises using the technology developed by Robert Monroe.  Application sessions, group discussions, and informal lectures are also included. Additionally, demonstrations and videos elaborate on the research and effects of this audio-guidance technology on brainwave arousal, human behavior, thought, and emotions.

Robert Monroe was best known for his explorations of consciousness from the out-of-body state,  a phrase that he coined.   Tools that may be utilized to achieve this particular state of consciousness are covered in the Gateway Voyage, but that is only a small part of the program’s overall scope of self-awareness, self- empowerment and stress reduction. We cannot guarantee a conscious out-of-body experience during, or subsequent to, a Gateway Voyage Program – but TMI does offer guidance and information about the experience of exploration out of the body.

We believe that coming to the Gateway Voyage with an open mind and a willingness to learn about yourself will greatly enhance your experience. The program does not use a pass-fail, right-wrong learning model. We encourage the exploration of consciousness from a personal and individualistic standpoint that allows you to determine what is most meaningful and effective for you.

Tools you will be provided include:

  • Focus 10 -mind awake, body asleep
  • Focus 12 – expanded awareness
  • Focus 15 – no time
  • Focus 21 – other energy systems

These tools and others presented during the program can be used to accomplish a variety of goals which include:

  • deep relaxation
  • recognition and control of personal energy
  • problem-solving
  • exploration of the out-of-body state
  • greater self-awareness
  • emotional cleansing
  • assertion of goals for your future

The Monroe Institute has a strong conviction that it is important to support and assist individuals in finding personal answers, rather than promoting a particular belief system or doctrine, thus all are encouraged to bring individual interests and concerns to this course.

Though there is an opportunity to examine broad overviews regarding consciousness and change, it is up to each individual to discover and reach his or her own personal conclusions with the assistance of both the course facilitators and within the group setting, as the concept of being more than one’s physical body is investigated and explored.

A holistic healing, friendship, and support network

       

DESERT GATHERING is a new holistic healing and support network whose vision is to promote a friendship community for anyone who has had, or currently has life challenges… be it, physical, emotional / mental, or a combination thereof.  It is a healing group that provides a network for exchanging resources and developing friendships.  Education and social interaction focuses on empowerment, the celebration of our life journeys, and the embracing of our holistic selves in the here and now.  This group places everyone on an equal platform without intimidating authority figures. DESERT GATHERING’S intention is to create a non-judgmental forum for people to come together and experience unity through a common language of the heart, and in so doing, discover meaning and purpose in their lives.

Central to DESERT GATHERING’S vision is the exploration of holistic principles and techniques that support the mind/body/spirit connection such as Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, creative arts & music, and meditation. Throughout history the arts have been a conduit for healing and transformation. DESERT GATHERING aspires to cultivate an environment that is conducive to creative expression - whether it manifested by music, movement and dance, painting, poetry or any form of expression that promotes inspiration and self-discovery.  Our intention is for this network to be multi-faceted.  We often invite guest presenters who share their expertise and wisdom about various healing modalities.  We incorporate a variety of activities into our meetings:  exercise indoors/outdoors, bodywork, sound healing, expression through art, music, movement and dance, etc.  We share wellness and survival resources, discuss personal concerns, offer information about advocacy and human rights; and generally support one another so that we do not feel alone on our path.  We also serve to educate those who have family members or other loved ones struggling with one or more of these challenges.  DESERT GATHERING provides a comfortable and intimate atmosphere for people to collectively help one another, and to connect with others of like mind. 

Desert Gathering is held in FRIENDSHIP HALL at JTRC

     (From entrance of Center, turn right, then take first left. Friendship Hall will be on the left side.)  

The founders of DESERT GATHERING are Catherine Penney, R.N. and    Victoria Williams-Manning.  Their energies intersected through synchronicity and a common vision for this network emerged.
